When I was 10, I decided to be the top Girl Scout cookie seller and made it happen. Thus began my path to learning how to achieve my goals and to wanting to help others to achieve theirs. Here is a little bit about what I've done to qualify me to be your partner in achieving your goals.
Just prior to launching this business, I led an initiative to rehabilitate criminals to productive lives, traveled the country expanding sales for an amazing artist and increased revenues for a high-end retail business. In each of these varied and wonderful experiences, I doubled volunteer engagement and increased revenues many-fold, respectively.
In 2013, a group of great gals and I founded Achieve Now, a non-profit whose mission is to move children in low-performing schools to grade-level reading, while effecting the vital changes in education curriculum and methodology that ensures this is a given for all children in our nation. It brings me great pride to know that, during my tenure, the organization moved 30,000 students to grade level reading.
From 2010 through 2016, I ran my consulting firm, The Hands on Advantage, that helped nonprofit leaders to be happier, less stressed and make a bigger difference. It provided skilled consulting in the areas of strategic planning, board development, executive enhancement, development, marketing and operations. Clients increased their revenues during their engagement with the HOA by 250%.
From 2008 – 2010, I worked in the early and exciting days with Mastery Charter Schools as Director of Talent Recruitment, Human Resources and External Affairs, helping to convert low-performing public schools to high achieving environments.
I am proud to have co-founded and served as CEO of Greater Philadelphia Cares, the region’s largest hub for volunteerism from 1993-2012. The organization galvanized the support of thousands of volunteers and the active support of the Mayor, Governor and other local and national political figures. We designed value-added partnerships with businesses, non-profit and government agencies that earned the organization the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce’s first non-profit of the year award. During my tenure, this corps of volunteers generated over 1,000,000 hours of volunteer service for the Greater Philadelphia region.
Prior to founding Greater Philadelphia Cares, I began my professional life with PaineWebber, now UBS Financial Services and am thrilled to have been the youngest female Vice President, managing investment portfolios in excess of 38 million dollars.
I was honored to be named an American Memorial Marshall Fellow by the German Marshall Fund and to have been identified along with 100 amazing colleagues as one of 101 Key Connectors by Leadership Philadelphia.
I look forward to connecting you with your goal.
